This is the first story that I wrote that was ever published. Though it was many years ago, it has always been a favorite. A few months ago I downloaded the free podcasting software Audacity, bought a cheap USB microphone (because the mic on my laptop picked up the whirring of the drive — annoying), and gave it a try. Once my daughter saw how it worked, she’s been bugging me to record her own podcasts ever since. Maybe I’ll post one of hers too sometime.
